UK online sex toy retailer Kandid says it has seen a climb in sales, due to customers spending more time at home.

Elle Vooght, sexual wellness doctor at Kandid comments: ‘I’d recommend making masturbation part of your weekly or event daily self-care routine. Self-pleasure is a proven wellness tool that has a multitude of health benefits. Regular masturbation can reduce anxiety, help with relaxation and deep sleep, and create happy hormones. Plus it's just fun.’

“For many of us, regardless of your sexuality, gender, identity or location, opening up about sex or buying a sex toy can be embarrassing. It can be daunting and unfortunately sometimes judged negatively. The industry is flooded with gendered, seedy and uninviting websites selling poor quality product which further pushes the stigma around sex toys and being comfortable with who you are.

“We noticed the seedy feeling around buying a sex toy and that’s not how it should be. We should be open to conversation and not embarrassed to want to explore our desires.”
