Rise in deaths recorded by Sheffield hospitals in latest coronavirus figures

Two more people have died from coronavirus in Sheffield’s hospitals, according to the latest figures from the NHS.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recorded the deaths of two people who had tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday, November 13.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire, there were a further two deaths at Barnsley and Rotherham hospital trusts and none were recorded at Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust.

Across England, a further 304 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 36,190.

Patients were aged between 21 and 100 years old.

All except nine, aged between 30 and 96, had known underlying health conditions.

The date of death ranges from September 10 to November 13, 2020.

Their families have been informed.

The total for the North East & Yorkshire region was 79 – with only the North West recording a higher number of deaths by region.
