‘People need to see’: Sheffield funeral director shares photo of stockpiled coffins

This shocking photo shows coffins being stockpiled in Sheffield due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was shared by the well-known funeral director Michael Fogg as a stark reminder to people about how important it is people observe the restrictions which have been imposed to slow the spread of COVID-19.

He said: “Something i believe people need to see. When I’m contacted by our coffin supplier and told I need to think about stockpiling coffins as the way things are going we could be waiting for orders.

“I order an extra 100 to be going along with. I’d rather waste money then use these, but that choice is up to you.”

There have been 174 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sheffield, according to the latest figures from Public Health England, with that number rising by more than a third in the space of 24 hours.

Across the UK, 9,529 people have tested positive and there have been 422 deaths.
