One more Covid death announced in Sheffield as 10 more die across UK

One more person has sadly died with coronavirus in Sheffield, NHS England have today announced.

The person, who has not been named, died on April 2 but their death wasn’t registered until Saturday.

Across the UK, 10 further Covid deaths were announced on Sunday, April 4, all of them taking place in England.

The Sheffield death was the only death to take place in the whole of Yorkshire and the north east, with the rest taking place in London, the Midlands and the east of England.

In total, 126,836 people have now died within 28 days of a positive Covid test in the UK since the pandemic began last March.

However, when all deaths were Covid is mentioned on the death certificate are included, the total number in the UK stands at 149,168.

Across the world, 2.84m peole have died from coronavirus since the killer disease was first detected in China in late 2019.
