A daily update from the health service, published this afternoon, announced a further 46 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 303. All the patients who died were aged between 47 and 105 years old and had underlying health conditions.

None of them were patients in Sheffield, however.

It comes as the latest available figures from Public Health England revealed Sheffield has the most number of confirmed cases in the North – and more than Manchester (31), Leeds (29) and York (10) combined. As of Sunday, there are 82 confirmed cases.

So, far two people have died in Sheffield after testing positive for Covid-19.

Across the UK, the death toll from coronavirus stood at 335 on Monday afternoon.
