No new COVID-19 deaths recorded in Sheffield, as another 70 patients die across England

A total of 280 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have now died at hospitals in Sheffield, according to the latest statistics published by NHS England this afternoon, Friday, June 12.

Across England, 27,860 people have now died with the disease in hospitals, as of 5pm yesterday, Thursday, June 11.

In Doncaster and Bassetlaw, 202 hospital patients have died with COVID-19, while there have been 180 deaths at hospitals in Rotherham and 132 in Barnsley, taking the South Yorkshire total to 794.

There have now been 2,586 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Sheffield, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Across the UK, 41,481 people are known to have died with COVID-19 in hospitals, care homes or elsewhere in the community, following a daily rise of 202, and 292,950 people have tested positive.
