NHS and UK Government reveal the three things you need to do if you have coronavirus symptoms

The Government and NHS have issued new advice to people who are experiencing the symptoms of coronavirus.

In a video posted on social media by the department of Health and Social Care, anyone who is experiencing the symptoms of coronavirus – a high temperature or a new, continuous cough – is urged to take three key steps.

The first one is to drink lots of water.

People are also encouraged to use over-the-counter medicines like paracetamol to help with some of their symptoms, ensuring they follow the dosage instructions on the pack.

Finally, anyone suffering with the illness is urged to “take care of your mind, as well as your body”, by staying in touch with family in friends via phone, video calls and social media.

According to Public Health England, as of 9am on 22 March there are 5,683 were confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK.
