National lockdown: These are the fines for anyone breaking tough new rules

People are being told to stay at home, with schools closing, after Boris Johnson announced a third national lockdown.

People are being asked to follow the new measures with immediate effect, though MPs are not set to vote to make them law until early on Wednesday.

People caught breaking the rules can be fined £200 for a first offence, while anyone holding an illegal gathering of over 30 people can be ordered to pay £10,000.
