The number of people testing positive for coronavirus fell in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield during the week ending February 8, the latest date for which reliable figures are available.

In Sheffield, there were 916 confirmed cases, giving a weekly infection rate of 156.6 new cases per 100,000 people – down from 210.3 during the previous seven days.

Hide AdIn Doncaster, there were 563 new cases, as the weekly rate fell from 226.0 to 180.5
In Barnsley, 481 people tested positive and the weekly rate dropped from 204.2 to 194.8.
And in Rotherham, there were 572 new cases and the weekly rate fell from 220.4 to 215.5.
Of the 315 local areas across England, the weekly case rates rose in just nine, with 305 (97 per cent) recording a fall and one remaining unchanged.
Rutland in the East Midlands had the highest rate nationally, at 448.3.
