Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team has blasted the person – and also revealed that officers are investigating an assault on a member of staff at a Doncaster supermarket after they refused to queue to get into the store.

Revealing details of the incidents on Facebook, a police spokesman said: “Unbelievably today we've had reports of someone walking around the town centre shouting "I've got coronavirus" and also an allegation of assault against a member of staff at a supermarket by someone who didn't like being told they had to queue to get in.

“Enquiries in to both incidents are ongoing.

“We appreciate there are frustrations at the moment, but behaviour such as this isn't acceptable.

“Stay inside, stay safe, save the NHS, Don't be an idiot.”
