Fans still waiting to hear on The Killers' Doncaster concert as band remain silent

Fans of American rockers The Killers are still waiting to hear if a huge concert by the band in Doncaster later this year will go ahead amid the coronavirus crisis.

The band are due to play at the Keepmoat Stadium on May 26, but the concert has yet to be cancelled.

The group have not issued an update to fans since March 16 and supporters of the band are waiting to hear if the concert – which is due to kick off the band’s UK tour will be resceduled.

Mass gatherings are currently banned under the Government’s coronavirus lockdown rules and other major concerts and music events such as Glastonbury, have already been cancelled.

The Keepmoat Stadium is currently closed with all Doncaster Rovers matches suspended until further notice.

Last month the Las Vegas band said still planned for the show to go ahead.

A statement said: “We’ve been putting this tour together for a long time and we are extremely excited to finally share it with you.

“We have of course been paying close attention to the recent precautionary measures around the world and trust that the coronavirus is expected to follow traditonal flu season patterns.

“We look forward to a great summer of shows.

The band has not issued any updates about its global touring plans since March 16, with many fans venting their frustration on Facebook and Twitter as to whether the show will be cancelled and a new date set up.
