Eleven more Covid deaths recorded in South Yorkshire

A further 11 coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in South Yorkshire, the latest daily statistics show.

NHS England data shows four deaths were recorded in Sheffield, one in Doncaster, four in Rotherham and two in Barnsley.

In total, 869 people with coronavirus have now died in Sheffield hospitals, 707 in Doncaster, 546 in Rotherham and 573 in Barnsley.

Nationally, a further 307 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 81,046.

The patients were aged between 16 and 100 years old. All except four – aged 16 to 68 years old - had known underlying health conditions.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson will set out more details about how the lockdown will be eased on Monday.
