Eight young people warned after breaking covid rules by meeting inside a Sheffield bus shelter

Police have written warning letters to parents after eight people broke social distancing guidelines by congregating in a bus shelter.

Police have reprimanded a group of Sheffield youngsters for breaking covid guidelines by ignoring social distancing by meeting as a group of eight inside a bus shelter.

Following reports of young people gathering on Stradbroke Road in breach of COVID guidelines police issued a number of warning letters to parents to remind them that we are currently still in lockdown and what the valid reasons are for leaving the house.

A spokesman for Sheffield Southeast neighbourhood police team NPT said: “Eight people inside a bus stop with no social distancing is not acceptable, especially when they were not waiting for a bus.

“Despite being given false details by some of those involved, our detective PCSO's have managed to identify their correct details and have paid a visit to their real addresses.”
