Doncaster coronavirus death toll passes 500 as nine more fatalities recorded

The grim milestone was reached as newly released NHS England statistics put the town's total at 508.

Ten more deaths have been recorded by Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust in the last 24 hours.

However, due to delays in recording and reporting, it does not necessarily mean the deaths have occurred in the last day.

Three more people have died in Sheffield’s hospitals, according to the most recent data, bringing the total Covid-19 related fatalities in the city to 538.

In Rotherham there were four additional deaths, taking the total to 389 and in Barnsley there have now been 371 deaths, after four more were recorded.

A further 317 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 45,783.
