Covid-19: Two more patients lose their lives in South Yorkshire
Two more patients suffering from coronavirus have sadly died in South Yorkshire, the latest NHS figures have confirmed.
The data, released by the government as part of its daily briefing, shows an additional patient who tested positive for the deadly bug passed away in hospital in Doncaster.
This brings the Covid-19 death toll in the town to 471.
Another patient also succumbed to the disease in Barnsley, taking the death toll there to 341.
There have been no further coronavirus-related fatalities in Sheffield, which has so far recorded 514 Covid deaths, or in Rotherham where the death toll stands at 367.
Earlier this week, the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust Trust announced that it was likely that this week would see the admission of its 2,000th coronavirus patient.
The infection rate has risen in Doncaster but has fallen in Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley in recent weeks.
