Coronavirus: two more deaths confirmed in Sheffield

Two more people who tested positive for coronavirus has died in Sheffield, according to the latest statistics from NHS England.

The latest increase means there have now been 238 coronavirus-related deaths in the city’s hospitals.

In addition to hospital deaths in Sheffield, at least 126 people are known to have died with coronavirus in care homes up to April 24, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.

Across England a further 207 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths to 24,159.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire, seven more people have died in Doncaster, taking the death toll there to 141. One more person died in Barnsley, which brings the town’s death toll to 108. In Rotherham, the number of fatalities is now 133 after another hospital death.
