Coronavirus in Sheffield - timeline of the pandemic in our city in pictures

It’s hard to imagine right now but there was a time, just a few months ago, when none of us had even heard the word coronavirus.

Covid-19 is currently dominating our lives, with schools and businesses closed, many people working from home or being furloughed, and the entire country being in lockdown for several weeks.

But among all the gloom there’s also been some really heartwarming moments as people have rallied round to help their friends, neighbours and even complete strangers, and the whole nation has been coming together each week to show a little bit of appreciation for our wonderful health staff by clapping for carers on a Thursday night.

At the time of writing 247 coronavirus related deaths have now been recorded in the city’s hospitals.

Here’s a look back at how coronavirus has affected Sheffield over the last few weeks and months.
