Covid-19 is currently dominating our lives, with schools and businesses closed, many people working from home or being furloughed, and the entire country being in lockdown for several weeks.
But among all the gloom there’s also been some really heartwarming moments as people have rallied round to help their friends, neighbours and even complete strangers, and the whole nation has been coming together each week to show a little bit of appreciation for our wonderful health staff by clapping for carers on a Thursday night.
At the time of writing 247 coronavirus related deaths have now been recorded in the city’s hospitals.
Here’s a look back at how coronavirus has affected Sheffield over the last few weeks and months.
1. Coronavirus originates in China

2. First confirmed case of coronavirus in the UK
