Coronavirus: Sheffield death toll rises to more than 140
A further six people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in Sheffield, the latest NHS England figures show.
That number means there have now been 141 coronavirus-related deaths recorded in city hospitals.
Elsewhere in South Yorkshire, four further deaths have been recorded by the Doncaster & Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust in the last 24 hours.
No new deaths have been recorded in Barnsley or Rotherham for this period.
Across the UK the death toll is now 15,464 after 888 more people died in hospitals.
NHS England updates these figures at 2pm each day and include confirmed cases reported at 5pm the previous day.
Confirmation of COVID-19 diagnosis, death notification and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure. This means that the totals reported at 5pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days.
