Coronavirus: More patients sadly die in Sheffield as England death toll rises by 183

Two more people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in Sheffield, according to the latest statistics from NHS England.

The latest increase means there have now been 264 coronavirus-related deaths in the city’s hospitals.

In addition to hospital deaths in Sheffield, a large number of people are known to have died with coronavirus in care homes.

NHS England has announced 183 new deaths of people who tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,049.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire: in Rotherham, the number of fatalities is now 155 after two more people died. The death toll in Doncaster is now 175 after three more died. The death toll in Barnsley remains at 116.
