The event, organised by Sheffield Needs a Pay Rise, is due to take place outside Sheffield City Hall today, Tuesday, March 17, at 1pm.

The Facebook page states: “With new government advice today telling people not to go to restaurants and bars, thousands of workers are at risk of being laid off without pay from today.

“We need to get out and let them know to join a union, apply for Universal Credit immediately, keep track of loss of earnings for actions later and get in touch for organising support where places don’t close.”
