Coronavirus: Doncaster's Cast theatre announces closure due to COVID-19 outbreak

Doncaster’s Cast theatre has announced its immediate closure due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The theatre has said it will be shut until at least the end of April.

A statement said: “Following the Government guidance around COVID-19, will be postponing all events and public gatherings in Cast’s spaces for the next 6 weeks, until 28 April.

“We’re prioritising the health and wellbeing of our staff and community and will continue to review these measures daily.

“We are currently working hard to reschedule all postponed events.

“As our plans develop and new Government guidance is issued, we will be keeping all our customers, friends and supporters informed. Our building will be closed to the general public, including our café bar during this time, but some meetings and rehearsals may still go ahead.

“Customers who have already purchased tickets for postponed events – i.e those due to take place within the next 6 weeks - will find their Cast booking accounts will be credited with the full balance by the end of the week.

“This credit can be used when the events are rescheduled or on another event in the future. Refunds, where required, may take us some time to administer, and we ask that you make any refund requests to [email protected] with the name, address under which the tickets were booked and the event details.”

The Dome has cancelled all its events until June and Doncaster Racecourse has announced racing will take place behind closed doors.
