Coronavirus: Doncaster primary school closed for deep clean amid Covid-19 fears

A Doncaster primary school has been closed down for a deep clean amid coronavirus fears.

Hawthorn Primary School in Cantley has been shut until tomorrow as a precaution while cleaning takes place.

A text message sent to parents read: “To try and prevent any illness within school, a decision has been made to close school until Thursday for a deep clean to take place. Thank you.”

It is the latest Doncaster school hit by the global COVID-19 outbreak.

Both Outwood Academy Danum and Adwick are partially closed for the foreseeable future while McAuley and Ridgewood have also undergone partial closure to certain year groups.

Armthorpe’s Southfield Primary School has reopened after a deep clean while last week, West Road Primary School at Moorends was also partially closed.

There are growing calls for all schools to be shut across Britain as the coronavirus crisis deepens.
