Coronavirus: 4 more deaths confirmed in Sheffield

Four more people who tested positive for coronavirus has died in Sheffield, according to the latest statistics from NHS England.

The latest increase means there have now been 245 coronavirus-related deaths in the city’s hospitals.

In addition to hospital deaths in Sheffield, a large number of people are known to have died with coronavirus in care homes.

Across England a further 90 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths to 24,617.

However, this figure may be off as the Covid Patient Notifcation System was down for some of Sunday May 16.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire one more person died in Barnsley, which brings the town’s death toll to 111. In Rotherham, the number of fatalities is now 140 after two more people died. The death toll in Doncaster remains at 147.
