We must hold the government to account for the personal protective equipment shortage in the NHS, but we also need to do what we can to support our keyworkers, vulnerable disabled community members and each other.

In terms of political action, readers can write to care providers, the Care Quality Commission, or local MPs, asking them to ensure care providers are providing adequate PPE for care workers.

It is now ready to deliver face masks.

Volunteers have already come forward to sew them at home.

They are deeply concerned for residential homes, and for care workers, so in the first instance will be delivering the face shields and masks to care workers.
