Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce his ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown this evening, with the four stages over the coming months expected to be outlined.

This will include the reopening of schools on March 8, and a gradual return for socialising, outdoor team sports, such as football and tennis, and non-essential shops.

He is also expected to outline when pubs, restaurants, theatres and nightclubs will open – along with hotels, and big events, such as public sports events and music festivals.

When will he address the nation?

The Prime Minister is expected to deliver a speech to parliament today, February 22 at 3.30pm.

He will then deliver a live conference via the BBC at 7pm, which will include the plan to exit lockdown.

The ‘roadmap’ announcement will then be placed on the Government website for people to follow over the coming months.
