The PM, who is recovering from COVID-19 in isolation, said it had been a ‘sad, sad day’ after 563 people died after testing positive from the virus in hospital.
In a video posted to his Twitter account, Mr Johnson detailed what the government is doing to ‘defeat’ the disease, adding: “I am confident that we will beat this together.”
