Another patient dies in Sheffield after being diagnosed with coronavirus

The UK coronavirus death toll has jumped to 257 in just 24 hours including one at a Sheffield Hospital.

NHS England announced yesterday (March 22) afternoon that 37 more patients in England had died having contracted coronavirus over the past 24 hours, including one in Sheffield.

A statement from NHS England said: “A further 37 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 257.“Patients were aged between 18 and 102 years old and all were in vulnerable groups including with underlying conditions.“Their families have been informed.

The total number of people to have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK now stands at 257, and the total number of cases in the UK currently stands at 5,683.
