Back in March 2020, the UK Government announced that the country would be entered into lockdown following the spread of the Coronavirus.
With everyone stuck inside at home and unable to go outside except for necessities, cities up and down the country had been virtually all but abandoned.
Sheffield was almost a ghost town during this period, with the only places people being allowed to go being shops, hospitals and public spaces for exercise.
Here are some of the images we took back in 2020 as we look back at a deserted Steel City.

5. Sheffield Parkway
Sheffield's main arterial road into the city, the parkway, always bustling with cars and drivers, sat unusually empty as the citizens of Sheffield adhere to Government advice and law.

An alternative view of a deserted Fargate from the Sheffield Town Hall as one of Sheffield city centre's busy areas suddenly became a ghost town.

One of Sheffield city centre's biggest shopper hotspots, The Moor, incredibly quiet as shoppers remain home as the Covid pandemic hit.

A typically lovely place in Sheffield to shop and eat, Ecclesall Road in Sheffield was, like the rest of the city, a now victim of abandonment due to lockdown.
