The 30 areas in England with the highest number of coronavirus hospital deaths

The Trust, which runs the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Northern General has recorded 283 virus related fatalities in its facilities since the pandemic hit.

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust had the highest number of coronavirus fatalities, with 955 deaths.

While Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust had the 30th highest number of Covid-19 fatalities in its facilities, with 275 people recorded to have died from the virus.

In London, Barts Healthcare NHS Trust was ranked as the hospital group with the second most coronavirus deaths – reporting that 623 patients have died from the disease in its hospitals.

The capital’s London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust was ranked as having the third highest number of virus fatalities in its hospitals, as 609 people have died from Covid-19.

Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust reported that 542 patients have lost their lives to coronavirus while being cared for in its facilities, with the fourth most virus fatalities compared to 30 other Trusts across the country.

A total of 514 people died due to Covid-19 in University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, which was ranked as the Trust with the fifth highest coronavirus deaths.

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust reported 507 patients have died from the virus in their hospitals, making it the Trust with the sixth most Covid-19 fatalities.

The Trust with the seventh highest number of coronavirus deaths was Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust – which recorded 486 fatalities.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust had 462 patients that died from the virus in its hospitals, making it the Trust with the eighth highest number of coronavirus deaths.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust had the joint ninth most Covid-19 fatalities, recording 425 deaths from the disease.

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust also reported that 425 patients had died.

The hospital group with the 11th highest number of coronavirus deaths was Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust which had 420 fatalities.

In London, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust was reported as the Trust with the 12th most Covid-19 fatalities as 410 patients died from the disease.

Despite the area introducing a local lockdown due to high transmission rates of the virus, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust came 13th on the list – recording 399 coronavirus deaths.

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust had the 14th highest number of virus fatalities, reporting 396 patients had lost their lives to Covid-19.

Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust recorded 377 coronavirus deaths in its hospital, ranking as the Trust with the 15th most virus related deaths.

The 16th hospital group with the highest number of deaths from the virus was West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, documenting 363 Covid-19 fatalities.

Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust reported 361 patients had died from coronavirus, ranking at 17th on the list of hospitals with the most virus deaths.

There were 348 Covid-19 deaths in East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust was ranked as 19th on the list with 345 coronavirus fatalities.

A total of 333 people lost their lives to the virus in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust – which had the 20th highest number of coronavirus deaths.

South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust ranked as 21 on the list, recording 325 patients had died from Covid-19 in its hospitals.

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust was the hospital group with the 22nd highest number of virus fatalities – with 322 deaths.

There were 306 people who lost their lives to the disease at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was ranked as 24th with 304 fatalities.

Croydon Health Services NHS Trust had the 25th highest number of coronavirus deaths, documenting that 300 patients had died from the disease.

There were a total of 297 fatalities at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust which was ranked as 26 on the list.

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recorded 295 people had died from the virus in its hospitals.

A total of 285 people lost their lives to Covid-19 at hospitals in The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust which had the 28th most coronavirus deaths.
