The 17 Sheffield areas where Covid cases are FALLING fastest as new tier system announced

New data from Public Health England has shown where confirmed cases of Covid-19 are falling the fastest across Sheffield.

The figures, which are available to view in an interactive map, show neighbourhoods saw a decrease in cases in the week to November 22.

Despite the drop in cases in a majority of Sheffield neighbourhoods, the infection rate across the city has slightly increased to 272 new cases per 100,000, as compared to 270 cases the previous week.

Sheffield is expected to learn soon whether it will return to Tier 3 restrictions once the national lockdown ends on December 2.

But Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in an announcement on Monday (November 23), said the restrictions are set to continue until at least the end of March in England, as a new set of tightened rules will replace the current lockdown.
