10 more coronavirus deaths in South Yorkshire, including three in Sheffield

South Yorkshire’s coronavirus death toll has risen by 10, the latest figures show, with another three people dying in Sheffield.

They were among 190 more people who were confirmed today, Monday, November 16, to have died in hospitals across England after testing positive for Covid-19.

Three patients at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, five at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust and two at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust died, NHS England announced this afternoon.

The latest deaths were all recorded between 4pm on Saturday, November 14 and 4pm the next day, though they may have occurred earlier.

Since the pandemic began, a total of 427 Covid-19 patients have now died at hospitals in Sheffield, and there have been 279 hospital deaths in Rotherham, 220 in Barnsley, and 371 in Doncaster and Bassetlaw.

Of the latest deaths to be announced, 61 were at hospitals in the North East & Yorkshire, more than any other region in England.
