Coronavirus: More lives lost in Sheffield as 14 patients die across South Yorkshire

Fourteen more patients have died across South Yorkshire have died after testing positive for coronavirus, the latest NHS figures have confirmed.

Two more people being treated for the deadly bug have died in Sheffield’s hospitals, bringing the total in the city to 436.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire, there were two more fatalities in Doncaster, where the death toll now stands at 387.

In Rotherham there were also seven more deaths, taking the total to 289 and in Barnsley there have now been 242 deaths after three more were recorded.

Nationwide a further 326 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 37,796.

The patients were aged between 29 and 100 years old. All except six (aged 50-82) had known underlying health conditions.The dates of the deaths range from September 11 to November 19.

Their families have been informed.
