Former Doncaster MP to appear on TV's Celebrity Mastermind

A former Doncaster MP will appear as a contestant on TV’s Celebrity Mastermind next month.

Ex-Don Valley MP Caroline Flint will sit in the famous black chair facing questions on the Ridley Scott movie Alien from host John Humphrys, having filmed the episode last year.

The Labour politician, who lost her seat to Conservative Nick Fletcher after 22 years at the 2019 General Election, will go head to head with comedian Rhys James, Asian Network DJ Noreen Khan and TV wildlife presenter Steve Backshall.

Her appearance will see her playing for the charity Nacoa UK, which helps the children of alcoholic parents.

The episode, which was filmed in Belfast last September under Covid secure conditions, is set to air in February on BBC One.

She will face a number of posers on the 1979 classic sci-horror film starring Sigourney Weaver and John Hurt as well as the general knowledge round, both against the clock.
