Firefighters tackle blaze in pizza shop in Sheffield suburb as road is closed and air ambulance lands

An air ambulance has landed in a Sheffield suburb where firefighters are tackling a blaze this morning.

Fire crews were alerted to the blaze on Chesterfield Road, Woodseats, just before 10.20am.

The blaze involves a terraced building with Milan’s pizza takeaway shop on the ground floor and flats above.

A large number of fire appliances are at the scene and there is also a police presence.

An air ambulance was said to have landed on the car park of the nearby Heeley Retail Park.
