A festive break from the usual uniform rules gave pupils and teachers at Sheffield’s Westbourne School the chance to show off some seasonal knitwear…and support a great cause.

Children and staff at the Broomhill independent school held a Christmas jumper day, swapping their usual blazers for some colourful knits.

Their fashion choices came at a price though as everybody taking part had to make a donation to top charity Save the Children.

“This is definitely one of the most colourful days of the Westbourne year,” said headmaster Aidan Edmanson.

“It was great to see so many of our young people taking part and its good to know that their efforts will support a charity that improves the lives of so many children around the world.”
