The MST community, on behalf of the Board of Directors, commended Ms Celik with the award and praised her dedication to help those she works with and serves in the area of safeguarding and early help.

Scott Burnside, headteacher of Chaucer School, said: “The way in which Ms Celik has diligently and proactively led, has been outstanding and the positive impact of the work in our community has been a complete team effort from the whole school organisation.

“We are very proud of the work we as a school strive to do to engage and support our young people and their families.”

Ms Celik has worked at Chaucer school for 13 years and has held a number of roles around early help and intervention in which she has ensured that appropriate safeguarding, support and intervention is in place for students and their families, whatever the circumstances.

She has championed students onto relevant career focussed progression plans that allow them to fulfil their life chances and dreams.

Alongside this she regularly deals with complex safeguarding situations during the school day, in the evenings, and at weekends, and always ensures that appropriate support has been delivered by either the school or additional agencies.

Ms Celik has also gone above and beyond in her role during the Covid-19 pandemic, delivering food packages and parcel for disadvantaged families within their times of need as well as running a summer school and after school activities which enhance and enrich curriculum experiences for young people.
