The humorous film produced by Heritage Park School has been designed to try and connect with members of the community who are struggling with the effects of self-isolation guidelines imposed by the government, in response to Covid-19.

The teachers would like to encourage a clear message of resilience in a bid to raise the spirits of everyone who may be struggling through these remarkable times.

Well-being leader, Neil Ferraby, said: “Myself and Assistant Headteacher, Mike Haigh, came up with the idea of producing a video to reach out to families of pupils who attend our school.

“With the idea fresh in mind, I approached another teacher, Mr Richard Brown, who is also a musician, to try and help with the editorial aspects of the film. We wanted the film to have quite an upbeat tune to it, which inspired us create our own rendition of ‘I’m Gonna Be’ (500 miles) by The Proclaimers.

“The majority of staff got on board and filmed their own contributions for the film. We put it together and after publishing the video on YouTube, it got more than 500 views in under 24 hours.

“A lot of pupils and staff are missing each other, and this was a good idea to have fun and remind everyone to keep strong and keep smiling.”
