Carterknowle Junior School announced the closure this morning.

Although schools have to close as part of national lockdown rules, they are remaining open for the children of keyworkers.

Pupils at Carterknowle Junior have been told that their lessons will be delivered online today.

Last week, a number of schools across the city were forced to close because of heavy snow.

Roads and pavements around many schools were deemed dangerous and teachers struggled to get in.
