Sheffield pupils play in pyjamas to back bedtime stories
Pupils jumped into their PJs to celebrate Pyjamarama – a bid to get children reading and raise money for bedtime stories.
Children aged four to 11 at Tinsley Meadows Primary Academy school joined the Book Trust event to celebrate and share the magic of reading. They raised £348 from donations to wear pyjamas.
Katie Milsom, Year 5 teacher at the Norborough Road school, said: “The pupils came to school in their pyjamas and took part in reading activites during the day. Our Reading Champions helped organise it and we had a really good time, everyone enjoyed it.”
Diana Gerald, Chief Executive of BookTrust said: “Sharing stories both at school and at home is a fantastic way to help children build social skills and resilience and supports communication skills, language development, confidence and mental health, which is even more important given the difficulties of the last year.
"We’re overjoyed that so many people got behind us to support Pyjamarama ”
