The talent show opened with a whole-school rendition of ‘The Greatest Show’ from 2017 film The Greatest Showman before youngsters divided into groups ready to take the stage.

Staff encouraged each child to choose their talent for the show, with the younger children performing in year groups and the older ones opting for smaller groups with their friends.

Parents were also encouraged to take part with their children, with acts including a dad and daughter duo playing the piano and a magic show featuring two pupils and a mum.

Other acts included youngsters performing karate moves, playing hockey and skipping with some even choreographing their own dance routines.

Headteacher Catherine Timbers said: “This term the topic they’ve been learning is ‘what makes me great’ to prepare them as they transition from school and help them build their inner self confidence.

“Every child has got a gift, we’re such a diverse school and we want to celebrate everyone’s talent.

“Especially the end when they all sing ‘This is Me’ from the Greatest Showman. The lyrics are so poignant – everyone at the school is so special and they all make me so proud.

“The talent show says this is us, this is Broomhill Infants, 41 languages, a diverse school. Our families are divine, as are all our volunteers and all the staff and I feel very privileged to work here.”
