Sheffield brothers complete charity walk to raise much need funds for children's charity

Adam and Mustafa Khan took part in a socially distanced 5km walk in aid of the NSPCC

Adam 12 a pupil at Brinsworth Academy, and Mustafa 10 a pupil at High Hazels Academy, recently completed the walk taking in parts of Sheffield along Tinsley Canal such as Victoria Quays, Park Square and other sites on route.

Parents Bashir and Hajra Khan from Darnall are obviously proud of their son's achievements.

The boys, who have collected over £700, were motivated to do the walk from issues which they had seen come to light over the last 12 months caused by Covid, and subsequent lockdowns.

Bashir said: “They realised this would be having an impact on children less fortunate than themselves.

”They’d picked up on the lack of availability of laptops and their devices for some pupils having homeschooling, and other things they’d seen in the news such as the NHS clapping earlier on in the pandemic.

“They also hadn’t been able to go to mosque or see their friends and had just picked upon all the negativity and effects on children of the last 12 months from so many different places,” he added.

When they got the chance to take part in the NSPCC walk they really wanted to do it, as they thought it would make a difference."
