School announces FOUR new coronavirus cases in one day as headteacher denies ‘outbreak’
Aston Academy informed parents and carers of four new confirmed cases on Monday, but did not specify which year groups were affected.
Principal Dominic Curran said pupils who have been in close contact with the confirmed case have been notified individually and advised to self isolate for 14 days.

Mr Curran said: “As you are aware, there have been a number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 within the Academy since the beginning of term.
“These do not meet the criteria for an ‘outbreak’.
“Rather, Public Health England have considered these to be single cases acquired outside the Academy community.”
The Academy remains open for children who are well and not displaying any symptoms of the virus.
