Entries wanted for Sheffield City Region Apprenticeship Awards

Intermediate Apprentices will be studying for an NVQ level 2 or 3 apprenticeship - it is the first level of the modern apprenticeship. Apprentices work full-time with an employer and spend time studying towards qualifications at a college or training provider.

Judges will be looking for the contribution that the individual has made throughout their apprenticeship, including details of training and qualifications that the apprentice is working towards and achievements to date, plus evidence of outstanding achievements through their quality of work.

The Business & Law Apprentice award is open to apprentices working within the Business Professional or Legal/Law sector.

The Health and Public Service Apprentice award is open to apprentices working within either the Health or Public Service Sector.

In 2019, Georgia Butler was crowned the winner of both the Business & Law and Health and Public Service Apprenticeship Awards.

Georgia was studying for her NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration whilst working at Doncaster Children’s Services Trust supporting the Children’s Looked After Service – Georgia also secured a permanent grade 5 Business Support Office role.

Lucy Millar was crowned Intermediate Apprentice of the Year after impressing the judges with details of her work with Sheffield City Council, having successfully completed the Council’s traineeship programme.

Lucy impressed SCC with her attitude, work ethic and determination, particularly in light of the disadvantages she faces in life and in the workplace.

Lucy has Cerebral Palsy, which impacts her mobility and sensation is also visually impaired.

However, through her hard work and determination, Lucy has secured a permanent position with SCC at a very early stage of her apprenticeship.
