An education hub which offers students personalised help with everything from their studies at A-Level to how to cope with exam stress is to launch a new premises in Sheffield.

Wednesday, 8th January 2020, 8:31 am

The Education Hub will officially unveil its new premises on Abbeydale Road by hosting an open day for both parents and their children between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, January 11.

During the event, attendees will be given the opportunity to chat with the team about some of the services on offer, each designed to meet the academic, personal and emotional needs of GCSE and A-Level students in the city.

These can range from study sessions and subject support classes, to help the young people develop skills such as time management, revision techniques and exam literacy, to a more specialised Dyslexia screening with an expert to ensure they are getting the right level of support.

Rachel Evans, founder of The Education Hub, said: “Parents and students are invited to call in and meet our friendly team of teacher tutors, who are offering expert support to GCSE and A-Level students.

“Not only do we provide the traditional subject support in the form of small group sessions, we also offer personalised one-to-one support in managing anxiety and exam stress, plus organisation and time management skills with trained education mentors. In addition we offer support for university applications with mock interviews and help with personal statements as well as information evenings for parents and their sons and daughters.

“We hope to provide a wide range of personalised support services to help young people with both the academic and personal pressures of student life.”

Rachel, a former A-Level psychology teacher and education mentor from Ecclesall with nearly 20 years experience in the field, launched The Education Hub in March last year after noticing a growing need for a more personalised approach for students when it came to their studies.

Since then she has been able to grow a team of highly qualified teachers and tutors, who use both relevant exam board materials as well as their own study skills resources both during study sessions and one-to-one tuition.
