Ryan Giles has played 21 games for the Sky Blues so far this season since arriving on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it was confirmed this week that his time at the club had been cut short with immediate effect as he returns to Wolves.
Mark Robins, his manager, told the media this week, “Ryan was recalled by Wolves yesterday so he’s gone back there and is due to go back out in the Championship, no doubt, later on.

“That solves one or two thinks but also presents essential headaches down the line should we pick up any more injuries. But it is what it is, and you always run that risk with players that are on loan.
“Financially it helps lessen the burden but that is not what we were looking for. We were looking for everybody pulling in the same direction and really having a go at this second half of the season.”
Tomorrow’s game at St. Andrews is a big one for both teams as they look to pick up three vital points down at the wrong end of the Championship table, and Giles’ absence will clearly be felt by the Owls’ opponents going forward.
