Eight jobless youngsters have been invited to a free workshop day at a Rotherham factory tomorrow – to develop skills they need to help get them back into work.
The event, at KP Snacks on the Eastwood Trading Estate, is part of a nationwide initiative backed by the food and grocery industry.
The project, titled Feeding Britain’s Future – Skills for Work Month 2013, aims to give young people access to farms, factories and stores.
There they will gain firsthand knowledge of the skills needed for a career in the food industry.
The day at KP will give the youngsters a chance to meet employees and find out more about their roles in the food industry, as well as touring the site and honing their interview skills.
