Popular city-centre venue to change name after being a staple for over 25 years
The venue has been open for over 25 years
A popular Sheffield night spot in a prominent city centre location will be refurbished with a new name - its owners have announced.
Yates Sheffield is closing on Saturday (September 26) after 27 years, with the popular late night bar set to reopen under new management following a rebranding.

It is expected to reopen on Friday, October 30, for Halloween weekend, although it will no longer operate under the Yates name.
A Yates spokesperson said the venue had been part of the city centre for more than two decades and thanked customers for their support.
The spokesperson said: “Yates Sheffield has been more than just a pub – it’s been a place where we’ve celebrated the small moments and the big occasions together.
“From birthdays and after-work drinks to tense matchdays and unforgettable nights, we’ve shared so many special memories, and we want to say a heartfelt thank you to our guests and the local community for your loyalty and support.
“We’d love you to join the team 7pm on Saturday 26th September for a final ‘cheers’.”
The spokesperson confirmed the closure will only be temporary, with the venue continuing as a city centre pub under new management.
They said: “While it’s farewell from the Yates name, this is only the end of one chapter.
“After few weeks of closure, the venue will be reopening under new management and will continue serving the city centre for many more years to come.
“The team look forward to welcoming you all back very soon.”
