Fears for jobs as Westfield Health set to make redundancies in Sheffield

A worker contacted The Star to say consultation notices had gone to ‘at least 16’ as part of a restructure driven by a new sales director, who has only been in post a matter of weeks.

The worker added: “Consultation taking place very quickly this week. I cant say any more, but worrying times.”

Westfield Health chief executive David Capper said 16 staff were in consultation and he could not rule out a handful of redundancies.

The company had been growing throughout the pandemic, both in recruitment and performance, he added.

He said: “The health and wellbeing market has grown significantly over the last few years. The consultation process in our sales team is part of a rolling, ongoing programme to continually refine how we work to make the most of this market opportunity.

“It’s a collaborative process, with the majority of changes likely to be focused on things like reporting lines or ways of working, but we can’t rule out a handful of redundancies if that’s what the process identifies as the best next step for our team and business.

“Our team are always our top priority, and we are 100 per cent committed to providing the necessary support to anyone going through changes to ensure Westfield’s continued success for the next 100 years.”
