Nearly 100 people booked on to a savings summit organised by a Sheffield-based financial planner.
Jillian Thomas, managing director of Future Life Wealth Management, organised the summit on Thursday, February 12 to explain the recent changes in pensions and ISAs.
The free event, which was held at Mosborough Hall Hotel, brought together experts to analyse how savers would be affected and featured speakers including TV finance pundit Justin Urquhart Stewart and David Lane, technical director of Vestra Wealth.
Justin, who is well known for his red braces, is co-founder and head of corporate development at Seven Investment Management. He is a renowned financial commentator on television and radio, and in newspapers and magazines. David is an expert on pensions, tax and trusts.
Jillian said: “I am pleased so many people booked on to the summit. In more than 20 years as a financial planner I have never seen such fundamental changes to the way we save.
“So I am delighted to have brought together some of the best brains in the business to unravel just what the changes mean to ordinary people.”
Among the changes to come in to force from April is the ability to take the pension pot as a cash lump sum, rather than an annuity, and spouses being able to inherit ISAs and benefit from their tax-free returns.
Future Life Wealth Management, which was set up in February 2010, offers a bespoke financial planning service to generators and receivers of wealth, from business owners and executives to inheritors and retirees, and is based in Renishaw.
