It’s impossible for The Moor’s latest coffee house to get suppliers any closer.
For Brew and Bean, on Cumberland Street, uses nearby market traders for its paninis and cakes.
Manager Jason Gummer said: “Everything is freshly made – our fruit and vegetables come from a stall just across the road and stalls in the market.”
The bistro, with outside seating, free wi-fi and stylist decor, has transformed a former housing association office and is likely to be a hit with Sheffield Council staff based nearby. It has arrived ahead of the wider regeneration of the shopping parade.
A VIP opening was attended by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield last week.
Fulwood entrepreneur Roy Young, who teamed up with the Massarella brand on the venture, said: “I really believe more local people should start investing in this part of town and I’d be over the moon if I thought we’ve acted as a catalyst for others to do the same.”
An alcohol licence and later evening openings are planned.
